The Beach House, the greatest show on Earth AND the Puyallup!

Our September has been really busy so far. We kicked September off with a great time at the beach house for Labor day, then a party for MAJOR Hovey (Congratulations Major), then we were off to see the circus and then the Puyallup fair.. oh yeah, and both kids started school. Here are some pictures and videos of our exciting adventures!

This is a video of the Bald Eagle that sits on the dock at the beach house. The next door neighbor feeds him Turkey legs every day and this day he waited for us to get video and pictures.



This is a video of Regen fishing. She caught 6 flounder and 2 bull head (used for crab bait). She was thrilled to catch so many fish!

Wow, where did the summer go? Regen is back in preschool and Claire started toddler group. It just baffles me how fast the summer goes every year and I am left wanting more... but when I look back at the pictures, I don't think we possible could have. Here is a month by month report of our summer. Happy Fall!

There are 3 days out of the year that my husband is older than me. I revel in those three days. For three days, he is a cradle robber and I am the young wife. It is over way too fast.

Anyway, a couple good friends have made lists of things that they would like to accomplish before their next birthday. I have thought about doing the same and will attempt it now. This will probably be a work in progress, so if you want to keep checking back to see if I add anything new, go ahead. I will check things off as I go. I hope that by publishing this list, I will actually do some/most/ or even ALL of the items. Here it goes... wish me luck!

32 things to do before I turn 33

1. Finish the girls Baby Books
2. Organize/Clean one area per month
3. Decide on (and be OK with) baby #3
4. Exercise more regularly
5. Make and STICK to a cleaning schedule
6. Hang Drapes in living room

Two hikes for the price of one...

Sunday, we headed up to the great outdoors and went on a HIKE. We went with the Hovey family, and we chose a hike that Elaine and I have been on before and we thought it would be perfect with 5 kids. That place was Denny Creek waterslide near Snoqualmie Pass. We had great weather and we set off on our adventure. 4 adults, 5 kids.. hiking to Denny Creek. Elaine and I were at the head of the pack and entered the trail. All the kids hiking along, we stopped for pictures and little rests here and there. Neither of us said anything, but I think we were both thinking.. "hmmm, this doesn't look too familiar"...but we hiked on. About an hour later we arrived at our destination.. or so we thought. We came to the top of a hill and a clearing... we scaled a slippery rock wall clinging to the hands of the kids... we were at the beautiful Franklin falls. Yes, we took the wrong trail head. We all looked at each other and sighed a collective "OH CRAP". We had promised all kids fun times playing in the water, and here we were at the bottom of a waterfall shivering from the wind and mist. We had a snack and hit the trail again. We decided just to go for it and we hiked to the bottom, got on the RIGHT trail head and hiked up to Denny Creek. All 5 kids did amazingly well...shockingly well. We made it to the waterslide, and the kids all got into their swimsuits and splashed around. By the time we got there, the shade had already covered the slide, so we were a little chilly, but we were determined to have fun. Of course on the way back down, about a quarter of a mile away from the car, Regen could NOT hold it any longer and we had to teach her the lesson of peeing in the woods. Unfortunately, she did not have beginners luck and I couldn't let her hike the rest of the way down in wet shoes and socks, so I got to carry her. All in all, we all had a fun day.. we will just make sure we read the trail head signs next time.
