Both girls are really enjoying the advent Calender. Regen yells for Claire every morning after breakfast to 'move Santa' and Claire RUNS to Regens side and waits for her treat. I think they will be sad when that daily treat goes away for another 11 months.

Holiday Happenings

We have been trying to do our usual Christmastime activities, but the snow has really put a damper in our plans. Oh well, you don't get much more Christmas-y than snow, right? We are still hoping to get to Snowflake lane and ice-skating, but those may become New-Years activities.

The need for speed!

We have been trying to take full advantage of all the snow that we have right now since it will be gone before we know it (although right now it seems like it will never go away). We went to a nearby park and school today to do some sledding. She went down once with daddy and then was ready to go on her own. She discovered the jump and she couldn't get enough. Claire on the other hand was not too thrilled. She finally got enough courage to go down with Daddy, but wasn't so sure she liked it. Give her another year and she'll be all over it.

Sing-a-long

Last Tuesday we attended Regen's preschool Christmas recital. It ended up being her last day of school due to all the snow. She did awesome. All the kids were incredibly cute and seemed to have a pretty good time. I think she was proud of herself after it was over.

Be careful what you wish for...

Yesterday I was in quite the 'mood'. All the hype, school cancellations, and not one little flurry of snow. I went to bed in a big huff just knowing that we weren't going to get any snow and the rest of the state was covered. Well... I woke up to quite the blanket of snow and I had to eat my words (and my attitude). Colin office was closed..not that he could have even gotten to Bellevue since every avenue OUT of Redmond was closed. We had a fun snow day at home. Grandma and Papa drove over to play too. The girls completely exhausted themselves and took a great afternoon nap and I cuddled up on the couch. I am sad that Regen will miss her last 2 days of school for the year since they had some fun things planned for them.. but I got what I wished for I guess!

Regen was up, dressed, and ready to go outside before we could get down the stairs. She was SO excited. Claire seemed excited to, but she copies EVERYTHING Regen does. Her attitude changed once we got outside. She was pretty stunned and wasn't sure about walking in it. She didn't like all the snow on her face. When everyone was ready to come inside, that is when she really got into it. I am sure she will be dressed and ready to go tomorrow, right alongside her big sister.

Santa Train

For the second year, we and a group of friends ventured out to North Bend to ride the Santa Train. Our favorite singer was on board again and was very entertaining. Regen was pretty excited to sit on Santa's lap and tell him that she wanted the Jasmine movie (Aladdin). Claire surprisingly did quite well. She looked like she was in shock a little, but she didn't cry. After Santa train everyone came back to our house for dinner.

Nickolaus

Last Saturday we celebrated Nickolaus. Nickolaus is "Santa's Helper" and he comes to check up on little girls and boys to make sure that they are behaving themselves. If they are, Nickolaus leaves a present in your shoe that is left outside of your bedroom door. Strange, I know... but kinda fun.

The Nutrcracker

We took Regen to the Nutcracker for the first time today. She has been really getting into dancing and will be starting ballet classes soon. She did well for her first time. It was a great performance. Her favorite's were of course the Snowflakes and the Sugar Plum Fairies. Any time there were lots of girls in poofy skirts dancing around she was fully engaged.
