Chase is one month!!

I feel like I say this all the time, but I can't believe that Chase is one month old already. Where does the time go? It feels like just yesterday we were in the hospital, but it also feels like he has been a part of our family for much longer than one month. He is getting so big - 11.5 pounds and already smiling. The girls are in love with him and they think it is fun to get him to smile too. Regen is such a big help.. she even wants to change diapers.. a little. :)

We had one of Colin's co-workers who does photography as a hobby come to the house to do some newborn pictures of Chase. I was afraid that if I didn't have them done that I would want another baby in a couple of years... so we had to do them and fast! Now we have hundreds of photos of our little guy. Here are some of our favorites.

We did the Puyallup!

On Sunday, we DID the Puyallup. We went, we ate, we rode, we screamed, we cried, we left.

We had a good time, but have decided that we will NOT go on a weekend again, and we just may take next year off. :)

First stop - the kayaks... Regen's FAVORITE ride. She remembered it from last year and kept saying that it was her favorite.. why, we are not sure, but it still is.

Labor Day 2009

Labor day this year was supposed to be a week spent playing at the beach before the start of a whole new phase in our lives - SCHOOL. Well, leave it to Western Washington weather to ruin our plans. The week before Labor Day, and the week after had been, and have been gorgeous, but Labor Day weekend was horrible. It was rainy, windy, cold.. and to have 2 little girls at the beach house when it is too yucky outside to play ON the beach is pretty much torture. We managed to get a little dry weather on Saturday, where the girls got outside to play for a while and the men went out fishing. Colin caught his first and only fish of the season. Chase got to go on the beach for his first time, but it was a little too cold to get his toes in the sand. We ended up leaving early to go home and attempt to do things around the house (keyword - attempt).

Regen Starts Kindergarten!!

I still can't really believe that my little baby started Kindergarten. I have to say, the last week has been a blur. We went to the Kindergarten orientation just one day after we got home from the hospital, and Regen's open house was when Chase was 3 days old. If you asked me what was said during either of these two events, I can't even come close to remembering. But, I was determined to be there, and I was.. at least my body was there.

Regen seemed pretty nervous about the start of Kindergarten all summer. Anytime anyone asked about it, she would immediately shut down and pretty much ignore the question. I am pretty proud of her though, she has handled these two big life events in stride and when the day came to get on the bus, she hardly looked back. When I picked her up from school on the first day, she was a little disappointed that she didnt get to ride the bus home too. From the first day she has seemed happy and comfortable with the new routine of her school day.

All ready to leave the hospital - I have to say, it was a little sad knowing we were not going to be back there to have another baby. It feels like the end of an era. Colin is a little nervous that I will keep wanting more babies. I keep telling him that once he turns two, I will be over it. :)

Regen has been quite the little mommy...she is actually a big help and she seems happy to do it, however, she gets a pretty panicked look on her face and is very very quick to give him back when she hears any 'noises' come out of him.



We have been promising the girls a treat from the ice-cream man all summer, and finally the time had come when they got to run out of the house and stop the truck and pick their treat.
