Fall Fun!

I seem to always be playing catch up with the blog lately. Here are some of the fun things we did this fall.

Went to Classic Nursery to see the Salmon Run







Colin and Regen went to a Sounders game since Regen has turned into our little soccer star

Claire's preschool pumpkin carving party. It was just me and Claire this year, since Regen had her last soccer practice that night. The crazy schedule's have begun!

Chase's first Haircut

It was time - Chase needed his first haircut. As much as I hated it, it had to be done before I had a toddler boy with long locks because I couldn't bring myself to lose my baby. We took him down to the local kids cut place just for the cute pictures and the cute card you get at the end with a lock of hair.


Here is me telling the lady - "just cut a little off.. just make his hair look just like it is, just shorter.. I want him to look like a baby still".

He did awesome. Let's hope it stays that way.

Regen lost her first tooth!!

Regen's tooth had been pretty wiggly for a while, but this particular night it was clear that it was going to fall out SOON. Regen had been waaaaiiittting forever for it to fall out so she could finally get a visit from the tooth fairy. She headed to bed, and called us up a few times to show us how wiggly it was.. she kept trying to get it out, but just couldn't bring herself to pull 'that' hard. It was probably 9:30 when she called us up for the 3rd or 4th time and it was SO close to falling out. We grabbed the camera and the video camera and got the whole thing on tape. She was SO proud that it was finally out. It is funny, as a kid, I remember how cool it was, and how fun it was to get the tooth out, but now as an adult.. it really kind of grossed me out.

Soccer!

Regen started soccer this year. I have to admit, I was skeptical. She is a 'girly girl' and I didn't think she would really enjoy soccer. She had never been on a team sport, it started at the same time school did, and I just thought it was too much. I was proven wrong by the first practice. She LOVES it. It is so funny to me for some reason. I think it is great, but I was just SO not expecting it. She was pretty timid at first, but as the season goes on, she is getting more and more aggressive and she just seems so happy to be a part of a team. Her coach is wonderful! He is so great with the girls, he is laid back and just wants them to have fun.


She has had quite the cheering section. Grandma, Papa, Ryan, Omi, Nona and Bubba have all come to see her play. Colin caught this moment of Chase and Bubba watching the game. Such a proud Great-Grandpa!

Labor Day at the Beach

As usual, we packed up and headed to the beach house again for Labor Day. Thankfully this year was a little better than last year. We managed to get some nice weather. It wasn't HOT by any means, but it wasn't raining (most of the time), so we were happy!



The Zepplin that was visiting Seattle flew over Whidbey a couple times while we were there. It was following us on the ferry over. It was fun to watch.


The pirates came back to the island and this time they left some treasures from Regen's Great Grandma... what nice pirates!


The pirate map ala Anthony - The girls get SO excited whenever they find a piece of old newspaper on the beach.. they just KNOW that it is a pirate map. Not sure how long this will last, but it is sure fun and cute to see how excited that they get over it.


Fishing on Papa's boat. Luckily flounders are plentiful in the bay. They will be incredibly bored if we ever go salmon fishing....

First Day of School!!

The first day of school this year was a little scary for everyone involved. 1st grade just seemed so different than kindergarten. Regen was NOT looking forward to going back to school. She dreaded going all day, she thought she was going to miss out on any fun we were having at home. She didn't really know anyone in her class. There were just 3 other kids from her Kindergarten class. She hadn't met her teacher. The first 3 weeks were pretty rough in the Worsley household. But, I am happy to say that she has turned the corner and now LOVES school. Last week they had 1/2 days for conferences, and she was SO sad that she couldn't go all day, and I even heard her say the other day that she loves school.. phew!

Gifts from Nona - There are pictures of 5 generations of kids holding these 'cones' filled with goodies. I am going to try and scan and post soon..


Claire on the other hand could not WAIT to go to preschool. She was so incredibly excited and didn't look back. She never said goodbye to me on the first day (or any other day for that matter). The teachers tell me all the time that she plugs her ears EVERY single time they sing the goodbye song. When I asked her why she does that, she told me that she just doesn't like it because she has to go home.


Someone was a little tired after her first day and couldn't wake herself up to go get Regen. I carried her downstairs, put her on the couch and preceded to talk to her, sing to her, shake her, tickle her, and still she just wanted to sleep.



OK, so I am a horrible mother and I didn't get the official picture of Chase on his first day of 'school'. He started Toddler group this year. I did it with both girls and I didn't want him to feel left out. It is fun having some mommy-son time with him..and it is so fun to see how different he is in the same class as the girls. ALL BOY! :) I took this with my phone when it I remembered that I should have a 'first day' picture of him too!
